The Initial Screening

Before beginning treatments to relieve your pain, Dr. Klosterman conducts a thorough chiropractic examination, including diagnostics that measure and test the function of your musculoskeletal health.

 

Insight Millennium Subluxation Station.

In addition to X-rays and a series of simple tests, Dr. Klosterman utilizes a unique state-of-the-art machine in the diagnostic process called the Insight Millennium Subluxation Station. This procedure is quick and painless.  Sensors are placed at key points along your spine and data readings are gathered by the computer.   We use sophisticated equipment to help detect patterns of vertebral sublaxation.  The same part of your nervous system that controls your heart, lungs, stomach and other organs regulates your skin (your largest organ).  By measuring skin temperatures along your spine we can find nervous system disturbance e that may affect other vital organs. This technology pinpoints abnormal function in the spine, which cannot be seen on an X-ray.   Our instrument detects differences as small as a tenth of a degreee!   Another way to locate vertebral subluxation pattern is by measuring muscle tone. Vertebral subluxations cause supporting muscles of the spine to exhibit unusual electrical activity.  Our equipment locates these areas by detecting changes as small as a millionth of a volt!   We have used this equipment to assess your nervous system.  The output is graphed and printed to a color printer, showing spikes that categorize various levels of pain in key areas of your body.        These quick, painless tests utilize information received from your central nervous system to assess your health and help Dr. Klosterman tailor a wellness plan specific to your health needs.

In the routine office visit, Dr. Dave makes minor adjustments to appropriate areas of your spine using gentle, quick pressure moves that work toward realigning your spine. This is totally painless and you may often feel instant relief.

Depending upon your needs, you may then be given a 10-minute treatment on an automated massage bed designed to facilitate the flow of blood to your muscles to further promote healing.

The equipment that Dr. Klosterman may utilize in your adjustment include the following: 

ArthroStim® Adjusting Tool   ArthroStim® instrument allows the doctor tremendous control over all adjustment variables. The ArthroStim® produces a succession of rapidly repeating, high velocity-low amplitude thrusts. The power of the thrusts can be changed from mere ounces of force, up to 40 pounds of thrusting force. The ArthroStim® instrument features a spring cushioned 'floating stylus' design that enables a practitioner to instantly increase and decrease the thrusting force simply by increasing or decreasing pressure against the body. This permits the practitioner to utilize the ArthroStim® as an extension of their own hands.   The ArthroStim® Instrument's adjustment is finely focused where it counts most: at the doctor-patient interface. The rapid thrust and unique recoil produced by the ArthroStim® activates the patient's proprioceptors and mechanoreceptors without recruiting the nocioceptors (pain receptors), providing the comfort today's patient demands.   Electro Meridian Imaging   Dr Klosterman uses the Electro Meridian Imaging for non needle acupuncture. EMI™ was the very first contemporary, acupuncture meridian measurement and diagnosis system that all others are based upon.  Very simply, the new EMI™ measures the 24 meridian points on the body (using the EMI Digital Probe & Computer Interface Module) and automatically enters, graphs, and analyzes those points (using the EMI™ Software), to help  diagnose and treat your patient. For safe, accurate, and error proof meridian testing, the EMI Digital Probe™ & Computer Interface Module uses microprocessor technology.  The goal is to incorporate the ancient and contemporary principles and procedures of acupuncture into successful, mainstream, Western-based practices.

The Pointer Pulse

The next generation handheld locator/stimulator!  The Pointer Pulse is the first all-in-one unit that combines laser therapy with electrical stimulation, allowing both methods of treatment to be used simultaneously or separately.  The device measures relative skin resistance at the treatment location through sound as well as a green light indicator found on the top of the unit. Location sensitivity and sound level are adjustable.

An effective push button adjustable stimulation offers immediate treatment. Based on the setting of the output dial, either milliamp or micro amp current output is produced (i.e., blue zone on the dial is milliamp).

Laser therapy is administered using a 650 nm, 5 mW laser contained in the device. Three modes of treatment are available, selected by using a toggle switch located between the grounding plate and stimulation button: on (continuous laser beam), pulsed (10 Hz pulsed laser beam) and off (no laser beam). The device is successfully in laser mode when the yellow light indicator on the top of the unit is on.
